The FEIG family of RFID devices includes modules,
fixed readers, and antennas. FEIG combines a sturdy,
stable hardware design with frequently updated hardware
and software. Free software and training materials,
available upon purchase, shows the capability of the
readers and the low level messages needed to implement
that functionality. Development kits for C# and C++
are available under NDA.
In GlueLogix designs, FEIG technology is used to provide a
consistent software interface across UHF and HF, including
most standard HF protocols. FEIG has a broad and
deep offering. The devices shown here are the most
often used in GlueLogix designs for Label, Card and
Plastics companies. If you need a different FEIG device,
us for a quote.
Unless otherwise noted, all UHF hardware works only
with UHF Gen2 chips.
The MU02 is an
inexpensive and versatile reader-encoder for EPC
Class 1 Generation 2 chips. In GlueLogix
designs, MU02 is used for near field read and
encode of tags on the production line. It
has also been deployed as a narrow portal reader.

down to about 10 mW (10 dbm)
The GlueLogix HF
Reader Case can be modified to support the MU02
module, allowing it to function as a fixed RFID
reader with two rugged SMA connections. The case requires 1 hour customization to
communications, power and SMA antenna interfaces
for Feig HF RFID modules in a compact case.
connection: SMA Female to EXTERNAL antenna
connection: DB9S, DCE (TX pin 2, RX pin 3, COM
pin 5). Tested with Digi Edgeport,
Prolific and FT232 USB-Serial adapters.
9-24V AC or DC. DC can be + or -
tip. Power jack is 2.1 mm post.
Power can optionally be fed on pins 1 and 9 of
the DB9 connector, compatible with Feig MR100.
FEIG is an excellent general purpose hardware
vendor. GlueLogix is fully tooled for FEIG based
projects, and can back that up with electronics and
enclosure design, prototype construction, and product
support. GlueLogix has been endorsed by FEIG USA as their
official sales channel to Label, Card and Plastics
companies in North America. GlueLogix acts as first line
support for any Feig hardware or software you buy from us.
We can show you how we use it, how to do the same
yourself, or handle it for you.
